The gist
First of all, you pronounce it like Zander. My mother opted for the French spelling, and in sixth grade, I decided there were too many Alex’s in the world, so we’re both at fault for the confusion.
When I say I’ve done a little bit of everything, I mean it. If you're a creative, you know that we wear many hats - often, hats we never signed up for. Over the years, I’ve found myself playing the role of photographer, photo producer, model wrangler, digi-tech, DAM manager, IT specialist, designer, and others. Many of these roles expanded beyond what you'd expect by looking at my job titles, which in a way is the beauty of working in this industry. I’ve learned how to adapt, solve problems on the fly, and put out fires (both literal and metaphorical).
My professional journey in the creative field began in 2012, after I earned my BFA in Photography and Media Studies. What started as a “temp” role (I had my sights on somewhere that was not Ohio), turned into a seven year stint at Abercrombie & Fitch, moving from assistant to team lead. That later led to supervising and finally art directing at Big Lots (also Ohio).
If you’ve stumbled upon my site, you’re likely a recruiter or part of a team doing some preliminary stalking, so thank you for taking the time to learn a little more about me.
